The People’s Park Foundation is dedicated to restoring and transforming Liberty State Park in New Jersey—an iconic waterfront space overlooking the Statue of Liberty. Our team was tasked with creating a vibrant, engaging website that could communicate the potential of the reimagined park to investors, community members, and voters.
The site needed to showcase an expansive vision that included miles of accessible green space, a concert amphitheater, sports fields, a farmers market, gathering areas, and year-round recreational opportunities. The challenge was to present these ambitious plans in a way that felt both aspirational and rooted in real community impact.
I developed the visual direction for the website around amorphous, organic shapes inspired by abstracted bird’s-eye views of traditional park maps. These fluid forms, paired with bright, optimistic colors and playful imagery, reflected the youthful, community-centered spirit of the proposed redevelopment. The design aimed to spark excitement, communicate possibility, and help audiences imagine the park as a lively, inclusive public destination.
The resulting website served as both an educational tool and an inspiration piece—illustrating how People’s Park could revitalize the area and become a meaningful gathering space for generations to come.
